Taking advantage of DVC Perks - Advanced Movie Screenings

There are many advantages of being a Disney Vacation Club member.  The perks and benefits aren't enough to justify membership, but they are a great "icing on the cake."  This is particularly true now that we have moved to Florida and can be in Orlando without flying.  The most recent example is an opportunity to pre-screen the new Pixar movie "Onward" on Leap Day.

We received an email on Tuesday, February 26th, that notified us of the opportunity for DVC owners to pre-screen the movie on Leap Day.  My wife registered us, and we were looking forward to it!

The doors were to open at 10:00 am on February 29th.  According to the "fineprint", it was a possibility that there were not enough seats for everyone.  Since we know how eager DVC people can be, we arrived at Disney Springs about 45 minutes early and were able to take a few pictures outside the theater:

Not only did we all get tickets for the movie, we each got a regular sized popcorn and drink.  We also were each given an Onward beanie to take home.  Even though we were one person short that day, with only four of us attending, it was a value of more than $100.  The movie tickets, popcorn, and soda would have cost us $106.88.  I didn't include the cost of the beanies, as I probably wouldn't have purchased one to have.

If you are a DVC member and live close to Orlando, or are planning your vacation there, it would be a good idea to check the members' website and your email for these offers.  We loved this opportunity!

The van is Guinevere and is a prominent part of the movie.  It happened to be in Disney Springs that day.

  1. I really enjoyed this movie! It was a unique look at a common issue with today's families. I for one loved the emphasis on siblings supporting each other in any situation. There is nothing better than watching a movie in a packed theater with fellow Disney Lovers!
